The development of our new racecourse a Lisselan, located close to the existing Tramore Racecourse is progressing well with massive progress achieved in recent weeks due to the fine weather.  In Dec 2006 Waterford Co Co granted permission for a multi-million euro racecourse

Proposed Development

Already the one mile, four furlong left-handed tracks, to accommodate chase, national hunt and flat racing, have been seeded; the schooling ground is in place while work will start in the Spring on the construction of a two-storey 30m glass-fronted stand to accommodate 10,000 people. Within the Grandstand complex, there will be a multi-purpose hospitality area, seating 300, with panoramic views of the entire racecourse and the parade ring.

State-of-the-art facilities will be provided for owners, trainers, jockeys, stable staff, race-goers. There will also be an owners and trainers bar, supporters’ club room, sponsors bar, a press room, male and female changing areas with sauna, a weigh out / in area with trainers waiting area, valets wash room, INHS stewards room and race day offices complete with cash room / security areas. The stable yard has 122 stables complete with veterinary areas, staff canteen, toilets and shower facilities

Leading Jockeys and trainers that have visited the site over the recent weeks have given the project the thumbs up and it is envisaged that racing will commence in 2009.
